Redmi recently unveiled its new Redmi Note 17 series in China, introducing the Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 17 Pro as successors to last year’s Redmi Note 15 lineup. Earlier reports suggested that Xiaomi would also bring these smartphones to India. However, a fresh leak now indicates that Poco could launch the same devices in the country under different names.
Poco M8 Power and Poco X8 May Arrive This Quarter
According to well-known tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh), Poco is preparing to launch the Poco M8 Power and Poco X8 in India during the current quarter. If the leak proves accurate, both smartphones could make their debut in the coming weeks or months.
The report claims that the Poco M8 Power will essentially be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17, while the Poco X8 is expected to be based on the Redmi Note 17 Pro. No major hardware changes are expected. However, the tipster suggests that the Indian pricing of these Poco smartphones may be higher than that of their Redmi counterparts.
Poco X8 Camera Specifications Leaked
Another tipster, Kacper Skrzypek, has revealed details about the camera setup of the Indian variant of the Poco X8. According to the leak, the smartphone will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor, matching the camera configuration of the Chinese version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the global variant of the Redmi Note 17 Pro could replace the 2-megapixel depth sensor with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. As a result, the Indian Poco X8 may have a slightly different camera setup compared to the global Redmi model.
Poco M8 Power Expected to Share Redmi Note 17 Specifications
The latest leak also supports previous reports claiming that the Poco M8 Power will launch in India with nearly identical hardware and features as the Redmi Note 17 available in China.
For reference, the Redmi Note 17 was launched in China on July 14 with a starting price of CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs. 18,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor and packs a massive 8,000mAh battery.
Although Poco has not officially confirmed the launch of either smartphone, recent leaks suggest that the company could soon introduce the Poco M8 Power and Poco X8 in India as rebranded versions of the Redmi Note 17 series.
