Tata Motors’ popular compact sedan, the Tigor, is set to receive a significant update soon. Recently surfaced patent images have revealed the exterior design of the upcoming Tata Tigor Facelift, showcasing a refreshed and more modern appearance. The updated model appears to borrow several styling elements from the recently refreshed Tiago hatchback, further strengthening the design connection between the two vehicles.
As part of Tata Motors’ FY27 product strategy, several models are scheduled for updates. Following the facelifted Tiago and Tiago EV, the Tigor and Tigor EV are expected to be the next models to receive major upgrades.
Design Receives Several Key Updates
According to the patent images, the new Tigor features a sharper and more contemporary design. The front fascia gets slim LED headlamps connected by a stylish trim bar, which could feature a gloss black finish similar to the updated Tiago. The redesigned front bumper adds to the premium appeal with larger air intakes and pixel-style LED fog lamp housings.
From the side, the sedan sports newly designed alloy wheels, although the wheel size is expected to remain at 15 inches. The pronounced wheel arch contours hint at black body cladding, while the signature notchback roofline continues to define the Tigor’s silhouette.
At the rear, connected-style tail-lamps give the sedan a wider and more sophisticated appearance. The rear bumper has also been redesigned, featuring reflectors on both sides and a centrally positioned reverse lamp.
The Tigor EV is expected to retain the same overall design while incorporating EV-specific elements such as a closed-off grille, unique alloy wheels, and revised bumpers.
Interior Could Receive Several New Features
While official cabin details have yet to be revealed, the facelifted Tigor is expected to adopt many elements from the updated Tiago. Potential upgrades include a redesigned dashboard, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a new steering wheel, and a revised center console.
Expected feature highlights include:
- Automatic climate control
- 360-degree camera
- Electrically adjustable ORVMs
- Six airbags as standard
- Rear AC vents
- Fast-charging USB ports
These additions are expected to make the Tigor more feature-rich, comfortable, and safer than before.
Engine and Battery Options Likely to Remain Unchanged
Under the hood, the Tata Tigor Facelift is expected to continue with the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 86 hp. A 75.5 hp CNG variant is also likely to remain on offer. Both powertrains are expected to be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT.
For the Tigor EV, Tata Motors may continue offering the same battery options as the Tiago EV:
- 19.2 kWh battery pack paired with a 61 hp electric motor
- 24 kWh battery pack paired with a 75 hp electric motor
Charging performance could see improvements, while the driving range may differ slightly from the Tiago EV due to the sedan’s distinct body style.
Expected Price Increase
With the addition of new features and design enhancements, the Tigor Facelift is expected to command a slight premium over the current model. At present, the petrol-powered Tigor is priced between ₹5.55 lakh and ₹8.84 lakh, while the Tigor EV is available from ₹12.49 lakh to ₹13.75 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors may also introduce the Battery-as-a-Subscription (BaaS) model for the Tigor EV, similar to the Tiago EV and Punch EV. This could help reduce the vehicle’s upfront purchase cost for buyers.
With refreshed styling, modern features, and proven powertrain options, the 2026 Tata Tigor Facelift is expected to strengthen its position in India’s competitive compact sedan segment.
