Mercedes-Benz has officially unveiled the second-generation AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. This time, the company has reinvented its performance sedan with an entirely new approach. Replacing the previous V8-powered model, the 2026 AMG GT 4-Door Coupe now arrives as a fully electric machine set to compete against high-performance EVs like the Porsche Taycan and Audi e-tron GT. 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe: Powertrain Highlights
The new AMG GT 4-Door Coupe becomes the first production model based on Mercedes-AMG’s advanced 800V AMG.EA platform. One of its biggest highlights is the use of three axial-flux electric motors, making it among the first series-production vehicles to adopt this technology.
Compared to traditional radial-flux motors, axial-flux units are more compact while delivering higher power output and better energy efficiency.
The GT 63 variant stands as the most powerful version, generating an impressive 1,169hp and a massive 2,000Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the GT 55 variant is no less exciting, producing 816hp and 1,801Nm of torque.
This all-electric powerhouse features a 106kWh battery pack with oil-cooled cells and supports ultra-fast 600kW DC charging. According to Mercedes, just 10 minutes of charging can add nearly 460km of driving range, while charging from 10 to 80 percent takes only 11 minutes.
WLTP-rated range figures include:

- GT 55: 700km range
Performance: Speed That Challenges Supercars
With its extremely powerful electric setup and ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.22, the new AMG GT promises breathtaking performance.
The GT 63 accelerates from 0–100kph in just 2.1 seconds and reaches 200kph in only 6.4 seconds. The GT 55 is also remarkably quick, completing the 0–100kph sprint in under three seconds.
With the optional Driver’s Package, both variants can reach a top speed of 300kph.
To preserve AMG’s emotional driving appeal, Mercedes has also developed a simulated sound experience inspired by the previous AMG GT R’s twin-turbo V8 engine. Built using more than 1,600 audio files, the system recreates engine notes and even simulates gear changes.

Exterior Design: Sporty Yet Futuristic
